So there's a rotor arm, dizzy and dizzy cap?? I suppose there's no point replacing just one of these then. Is it best to replace all 3??

Cheers

If thats your best understanding of the dizzy cap m8 make sure you've got someone helping you when you change it

Or your car will be missing/won't start when you swap them over

kevsrs your dizzy controls your spark timing....

basically your leads connect to the cap in a specific order in which the engine fires, make sure when you remove the cap that you leave the leads connected to the old one, remove one at a time and transfer them to the new cap in the same positions as they were on the old cap. rotor arm is a simple pull off and push in fitment.

The most important part about this convo is the fact that no-one has told the guy that after changing the dizzy you MUST! make sure that the advance is correct on the dizzy or you will not only be finding it hard to start or drive but it could also damage the engine.

IMO if you have no idea, get a pro to check the settings once you have finished messing about.

Regards

i presume he'll just change the cap/arm first and see how he goes, if the dizzy needs changing then as you say it'll need timing up properly
