Default 220-240bhp

what mods would you suggest to achieve this?

av got s stg2 turbo would this be up to the job?
if so:

low comp or standard?
cossie managment, fifth injector, or stand alone managment?

also where do people stand on the rods-ive heard these are a weak point
so wots available to sort this?

i also want to keep it 1600

any help would be greatly appreciated

Providing your engine was in good nick I would

Go with:

Decent exhaust
Panel filter in drilled air box
Front mount intercooler (GRS/ProAlloy/Pace etc)
Chip
-31 actuator

I would drop the compression on a set of pistons (not decomp plates) and fit ARP rod bolts to help keep it all together)

18psi or so should see you pretty close to 220bhp. Don;t forget to sort your gearbox out or you will eat it in no time and make sure you upgrade the brakes.

I'm running 250bhp through my pretty standard rods. Saying that they are on my list of jobs to do

as oranoco said, get a decent chip, high boost but be careful not to melt the engine, Mahle pistons are good, its what im using and no problems so far, and if your looking for a good intercooler for the money GRS is the way to go, cost less than the others but isnt quite as good as pace and pro alloy, Also as far as the gearbox goes, i shit my standard one out after about 3 months, now ive got a geartorque fully uprated one, Cost me Ł1000 but havent had a single problem with it since, You will need an uprated clutch to, get paddle as you will probably find and organic will start to slip after 200 + Bhp.

The standard KE-Jetronic will be fine with some tweeking.

Speak to Bernie about what box he recomends for the power you are after. He is a top bloke and won't steer you wrong

Do not use a paddle clutch, use the AP Organic Kit. Compression should be left standard. You won't make 240hp with a std head on a stage 2 turbo, 220 at the very most, more like 210.

I have to say that the GRS absolutely WALKS OVER the Pro Alloy cooler for Charge Temps.

If anyone wants to make an issue of the flow thing, then I would be quite happy to carry out a back-to-back Rolling Road test using the 2 coolers and no other adjustments. All you need to do is all club together to pay for the dyno time and someone lend me a Pro Alloy cooler.

That would prove it and you would all have an answer helping you with which to buy. I know where my money would be (and I bet Tony would back me up on that).

As for making that power, 240bhp is not to be taken lightly. I would definately say a Stage 3 turbo is needed. I ran mine to 260bhp on Standard Rods, Machined Mahle's and a Stage 3 T3 without a 5th Injector. It also did 150+mph on that spec.
