Default I-Pod incar adapter thing

Need some advice on I-Pods before i buy.

Basically i will be using it mainly for listening to in the car.

I have heard that you can get something that your i-pod fits into and basically makes it like a radio broadcast...IE, you then tune your car radio into for instance 97fm and it picks up your i-pod...............Is this right?

OR

Is there any other way of doing it without using a shit Tape coverter thing

if you have a pioneer stereo you can get a proper adapter that uses the ip bus connection which then plugs into the pod for much better sound quality

hope this helps

tiff go on fleebay and search for pioneer ipod

it uses the port that a cd changer uses ( will have to unplug mine)

there about 50 quid delivered i think

i also think you can control the pod thru the head unit but not 100% sure on that

also not too sure if that support the 5th gen ipods yet but they should do

to give you an idea Mark.

We do all sorts.
Cassette slot ones.
FM modulator ones
FM modulator with charging points
Ipod links that go in place of CD changers and allow you to utilise CD changer functions on your stereo
Also next month we are doing the one which has a console mounter button and a screen on it

Have a butchers on google for Dension the majority of stuff that they do on there we can supply (its sale this month LOL) if you dont see anything you fancy or theres somet cheaper else where I know where you can get it fitted.

I just ordered a 60 gig iPod in black and a Kenwood interface for the car! You can control the Ipod through the head unit so you can bury it in the glovebox and for get about it, apparently.

From what I know these come with a cable that plugs into the IPOD and you're supposed to run the cable through to the glove box or where ever to do just that.

Exactly what I want!

I already have an MP3 hard drive in the van instead of a disc changer. Just want this for the car and I'm sorted. Disc changers will probably be a thing of the past eventually.

Tiff the cable I got plugs into the changer port and plays the iPOD through the head unit, like I said only cost me a tenner

I'm not too fussed about controlling the iPOD via the head unit, I take it out all the time to update it and use it at work as well (plus I couldn't afford it lol)
