After much soul searching I've decided to hell with originality and my Sapphire is going to be black. I dropped it off on Monday at the painters
Pics when I got it.

Been stuck in a leaky barn for 18 months
It didn't clean up too bad as you can see in my sig pic, but white looks a bit dated.
What I find hard to take is the prices of bits from Fraud
4 outer door window rubbers £110 approx
Seal that goes up A pillar along top of roof and down B pillar £48 for one side and £58 for other
Pics when I remember to take my camera along to the painters.

I do regret selling the RS2300 quite often because it was mint
The engine will be droped at a later date and I can spray under the bonnet easy enough. The painters are taking the bonnet boot and doors off as well as removing the bumpers, sunroof etc. to spray all the major stuff (basically everthing except the engine bay itself) and it will be going back together with all new door striker plates and stays along with nice shiney nuts and bolts to hold it all together.
I will post pics as soon as I get them.

Cool project mate - did you just find it in a barn or something?
I have the use of a barn and when the farmer gave me a tour of the rest of the farm, I found a mk1 Cortina, 15k from new, and pristine, if a little dirty!

It belonged to my Dad, who got bored of it and stuck it in a mates barn until I talked him into selling it.
Been to the painters today
They don't work very fast these bodywork types
all they have managed to do is take the trim, lights and bumpers off.

They have had my car for a month and not one bit is black
It has given me time to source lots of new parts like, door striker plates, wiring clips etc but I'm getting more than a bit impatient.

PLEASE ignore all the dust and shite
Lots of other work going on at the bodyshop at the same time, they are just fitting mine in between all the trade work.

I spent all day today putting dash back in and fitting all the door stuff back on.
Should get it back next weekend

Thanks guys
I spent the time stripping it all out under the bonnet in the end because it was a LOT easier to spray now than later, took me a whole day just to fit all the under bonnet stuff back on and get it running again
There's 3 litres of clear laquer on just the body and doors
Proper shitting myself about the final bill now
