Test drove the Focus ST on sunday at South Woodham Ferrers Dovercourt.

Liked it a lot, especially the sound!!!

Sat down with the salesman afterwards and basically he completley turned me off from buying it.

If i had had 19k in my pocket it would have stayed there. he was the most boring uninspiring salesman i have ever met. I felt so depressed after i left.

Think i will go to a different dealer and have a chat with them!

if you want take this print this off and take it to him tell him you have had a bad experiance with the last salesman you spoken to and this is the advice you have had, and if worse comes to worse and you dont get on with ask to see another salesman good luck mate ps just be honest with him he wont bite you.

Bet he thought you were a time waster with no money. Happened to my mate when he was 20 and went into Ford to buy a brand new XR2i (H plate) so shows you how long ago it was. Went in there, salesman being a total tosspot un til my mate put Ł2k down on the desk and told the bloke that was his deposit.

When i bought my fiesta st the salesman was great, really made me feel happy parting with my money, this bloke didnt. shame really.

Not put off from buying the car really, just wont go there. Which again is a shame cause its only 3 miles from my house.

 

carnt you go see the same salesman you got your st off he will do you a deal for going back to him mate

do you know what ive always wanted to do is to walk in to a dealer of some top class car where your be spending over a Ł100k and dress like a right pikey.....bit like i am now . and have a briefcase full of cash to ready to buy one and see if they start to do a bit of arse licking bit like in pretty woman except i aint a woman or a whore....well maybe the 2nd bit

 

Friend of mine was buying a Focus so we went round all dealers in the area. Totally shocking how much difference between them when it came to customer satisfaction.

I know of a very good one but it's in Congleton.

 

ironic thing is they probably will not take cash looks like you will have to keep trying to lick your own arse

 

The other thing that made me laugh was that he said if i want an ST1 they are not going to start building them until March, so i wont be able to get it until end of July. Not that bothered by waiting for it but he said would i be willing to order it today. I said what can you do me on the price, he said nothing.

So i asked him, why would i order a car that wont be built until March and delviered until july and pay full rrp when i can wait until march and maybe have some movement on price as there will be a fair few of them out there by then. And prob only want to wait until august and it will then be on a new plate.

 

iots a brand new car course he aint gonna discount it,it will sell on the spec of the car i assume ford will keep it limited as the the focus rs so demand will be high,think maybe it was ur attitude that pissed the salesman off i love people like you when the come in the showroom except i probably wouldnt of let you drive it

 

what attitude, i was nothing but fucking nice, pulled up in my 6 month old fiesta st, not some shit mk1 fiesta, who obviously is just test piloting it.

seriously thinking about buying the car and he didnt seem at all fussed.

im sorry but the focus st isnt a limited edition car, its mass produced so in the next few 4 months or so they will start being able to do things on the price cause there will be 2nd hand ones hitting the market.

 

Would you order a car at rrp when its not going to be start being built for 3 months, and then delivered another 3-4 months after that when its a mass produced car.

I can understand there would be no movement on something like a focus rs cause there was only x amount of them built.

 

We have just brought a new fiesta for my girlfriend and we visited 4 Ford dealers.

the 1st one told us it was against company policy to discuss prices and that we should "go look on Fords web site", i won't name and shame Swale Motor Company of Gravesend, Kent, for their totally crap attitude.

But i will name the 3rd (Haynes of Maidstone) and the 4th (CD Bramell of Bexley) who were very good and no pressure.

We brought the car from CD Bramell in the end

 

I can confirm that even fleet buyers aren't getting discount on the Focus ST at present. That might or might not change between now and March, but if Ford restrict the build slots and you wait till March to order, you may not see the car till next September!

 

I know someone who sold a car (355 ferrari) to someone who did that^^ only the bloke had got easily enough cash on him to buy 2!!! and that fella walked into the show romm with all the cash in a tesco bag!!

 

A few years back I saw that they were bringing out the Clio 172 cup, decided I wanted one and popped down to my local renault dealer. The guy looked at me, obviuosly thought he's just a kid he's trying it on. So he really didnt bother with me.

So the next day i travelled 20 miles to llanelli and bought one from a far more helpful guy, who managed to get it all sorted in time for me to take a trip to Santa pod for USC.
