Default help with wandering.......

the 306 is wandering like fook! , changed the drivers track rod end for mot and passenger ball joint as failed, wandering went but now come back worse than ever, but only does it under acceleration in 3rd,4th,5th. 1st and 2nd fine but soon as in 3rd and accelerate wanders right quite hard and you need to turn into it,back off and it moves back left, any ideas? since changed other track rod end also, tracking ok but not had chance to look since

If the bearings and seals have gone on the rear beam it will need rebuilding.......

Check by jacking the rear up and checking the play in the wheel, much like you are checking wheel bearings..This will show if the beam is fooked.

But if you say the rear wheel is rubbing on hard cornering i would say it may well be that

Hopefully the rear beam tube is ok to reuse as there are some bearings inside that cant be taken out......if thats shot you better get hunting for a rear beam tube

You may be able to do it yourself but it is a fucking pain in the arse, i know most people dont try it themselves....

I just paid someone to do it as i know it is 100% spot on then

HHmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

You could keep your eye out for a rear end from a 306 as it is not cheap to rebuild them

That is IF it is the problem.........but i does sound like it

Had a look and I THINK the beam is ok Cant see much but jacked up in the street and NO play on either wheel so praying just shit offset wheels that need a spacer, Jacked the front and both of the rear bushes on the front control arms have split

Fix for under a tenner though so hoping thats all it

Which 306 is it mate??? It could be your rear subframe bushes that have gone....do you get like a loud banging from the arse end if you brake heavily???

My 17s where VERY close to the arch & did occasionally catch especially when I lowered it.....so I got the grinder out which helped a bit - they were the correct offset as well!!!

update

Right wandering was control arm rear bushes fooked, changed and now mint but back to the rear beam.................

Still catching on drivers rear so took a gander, Wheel seems cambered in to much and catching arch liner so removed over xmas as killing tyre. There is no banging etc and drives perfect now and no play when jacked up

Thought maybe was just bad offset wheels so dug some spacers out of garage and whacked em on, FOOK ME she bangs now under braking, the whole back end jumps around and it feels as though the cars about to split in 2!! Still not actually jacked upand got under with a light but are beam bushes/mounts the 1st call of inspection then?? if the beam bearings are fooked surely there will be play. Any other ideas ppl

To me it DEFFO sounds like a rear beam issue

Why not try this........i know it may go against everything you know Danny but..................

Jack it up and get underneath with a light
