are mk3 mondeo zetec engines the same as the mk1 mondeo zetec engines?
i know they are not totally the same but can they be swapped with the earlier models?
i know most of the manifolds are the same, im sure the head pattern is the same but what about engine mounting holes??

 

I thought the Mondeo Mk3 used Duratec engines, not Zetec engines?

 

not the same, the mk3 mondeo has the DURATEC HE i4 1.8 and 2.0 engine, it´s very different compared to the zetecs being a collaboration between mazda and ford. The Duratec HE is a better engine in my opinion.
