When I read the article I assumed it was a pedal vehicle, if it's battery powered that's different. Forget the fact it's a 2 year old kid, remember the fact that nothing other than pedestrians and wheelchars are allowed on pavements, for a REASON.

3mph, yep sure, then give it a petrol engine and NOS and Konis... etc. etc. etc. where do you draw the line?? Are the skallies that drive unregistered uninsured quads and motorbikes on the pavement OK too?

there are exceptions and allowances to every rule mate, no matter the principle of a law trying to penalise a 2year old going 3mph is just plain wrong IMO

Blah blah blah...my kid this, my kid that.

If your son knocked over my nan in his buggy I sure as hell hope there would be some form of insurance involved!!!!!

The vehicle was powered so where do you draw the distinction?

And the officer never actually tried to penalise the kid, they just warned his father and drove off without taking any action.

Police dont make the law. They just enforce it unfortunately

Sorry but you are completly wrong and seem to be comparing two completly different things,
a toddler on a buggy driving slowly (max speed is 3mph) under the superviosn of parents on a buggy powered by a tiny battery can in no way be compared to youths who drive dangerously and wrecklessly with no concern for other people. I dont even know why any sane person would even attempt to put a petrol engine and konis in a plastic buggy designed for a child so won't even bother with that one

Matt, what about cyclists? they pose more of a threat to your nan than my little girl on her buggy i guarentee it, and they done have tax, insurance, and to date i have never seen a case where there was a casualty as a result of a runaway toddler mowing down pedistrians (although i am now thinking of fitting spikes to kaceys buggy in order to clear queues in Asda )

thats wrong there lee, any cycle with a wheel size LOWER than 20ins wheels IS allowed on the pavement and IS NOT allowed on the road, cause its classed as a kids bike and for a age range of under 6years of age

it did used to be 20ins wheels and below but some people discovered that BMX's are actually 20ins wheel in diamiter

now before ANYONE claims otherwise this was looked into when i got done for playing with my bmx on the pavement out side my old cycle shop by a tosser who gave me a 20 quid fine, the LCC actually backed me that time

they never on me getting done for a red light,,,,,,,,, i was stupid enough to stop i supose when the beat walker tosser only held his hand out as bikes dont have reg plates

im sorry but do we know the situation? how do we know it wasnt a family of pikeys and this kid was out in the street all the time crashing into peoples cars in his little buggy so the neighbours had enough and complained and the old bill did the only thing they could, ie warn the parents?

don't all go jumping on the bandwagon, the papers only say what they thing makes a good story, we DON'T know the specifics, we are just lead to believe that this harmless little child was punished by a cock of a policeman
