Default Focus 1.8 Zetec Tuning

Hi
Im looking to tune a 1.8L Zetec Focus but dont know where to start! Im fairly new to engine modifying and dont know much! Ive got an induction kit already and have been recommended new exhaust system and maybe some camshafts? I havnt got loads to spend 'for now' but just looking for any way to push more power out of it. Ive also been told chipping is a nice easy big power booster?

Any help is much appreciated ... Cheers!

You should get yourself a bluefin, I dont know any exact power increases, but my torque went right up! You can get a half decent 4 branch manifold and de-cat off ebay for about 170 quid. Those two together should give you at least another 15 - 20 bhp for under £500! Well worth the cash for the noise alone!!

Get the de-cat and manifold - leave out the bluefin though - put the money towards some mild cams and vernier pulleys - the usual ST170 air snorkel and airbox along with panel filer will work well together - that is the best of the 'bolt on' stuff.

If you are going to get it chipped go for the Datek unit - slightly more flexibleshould you get some more work done at some point - i.e. it can be mapped.

ST170 manifold, Decat and Exhaust will be good. Induction Kit, 57i Ford Racing 65mm Throttle Body. They are the basic bolt on's....

Cams and Headwork would be the next step...

Leave the Bluefin until last IMO
