decided to stop drinking a just over a month ago until christmas eve and so far i have stuck with it. i decided to try some of the alcohol free offerings... and jesus they are mostly disgusting. becks and holsten are the worst while labatts is drinkable but i have actually found a beer that tastes almost the same as normal beer... it's cobra's offering. anyone recommend any others?

 

cobra is the only one i like tbh, not many pubs serve it though


i find that if i pour a bottle of kaliber in and top it up with stella then it takes away the bad taste

dont help the non drinking but will reduce it

 

Is there much point? Or is it just the sociable thing?

 

With Daz - if you're going to drink alchol free why not just drink the proper stuff ???

Kaliber i think. Its just that it takes a while to get used to interms of flavour

but seeing as me motor aint ready yet its pure Stella at the minute

I only ever drink at night from about 7.30 till 10 ish...get to about 8 units quite comfortably...and i can tell you it makes my missus look quite attractive by then

i drink half and half as i get quite rowdy when ive had a few so this way when the rest are all pissed where all just as rowdy

also means i can have 4 pints at the pub meets rather than have 1, get the flavour and then drink rola cola

infact when i drink one i always have another anyway

Drunk chalenges are always the most amuzing but this one doesn't so so much fun!!

You actually think people drink beer because they like the taste? Its simply because they want to get pissed or tippsy mate. People say i like stella or i like fosters or whatever because its what they prefer out the alcoholic range best not that they like it best of any drink.

Are you telling me that beer tastes better than a coke or a milkshake or orange juice? Don't be silly. If it wasn't alcoholic it would barely sell.

You won't find a good non alcoholic drink because its missing the drug!

bollox beer IS refreshing and i drink it cause i like the taste, getting drunk IS a down side

if they made stella with no drunk side effects id be able to get it from the coke machine at work

Nope your brain is telling you its nice, even if your not addicted you become attached. I love beer too and to get drunk but why can't people just admit that there was a time long ago when they desired to get pissed. After that they did it on the weekened or with the football whatever, but the drinks you like are ones you become accustomed to. Some beers taste better than others but cant tell me they taste really really amazing, What about vodka or JD or bacardi does that taste nice? Stell sells by the boatload though!

As i say, i don't care weather its hot or snowy, your telling me it tastes better than sugary soft drinks?

Again you mention coffee but that contains the most addictive drug in the world, like Coke.

 

its the taste i promise you, i dont drink shorts as i hate the taste, i DO drink lots of aftershock cause,,,,,,,, well i aont got a clue as im usually drunk by then and dont know what it tastes like, it does fuck me up though big style

coffee is for that creamy texture hence why i dont drink shite stuff from cafes

i cant drink vodka as no matter how small the amount it makes me sick

I know what your saying but think back to the first time you had a beer (whatever the age) what was your reaction and thought on the taste. Exactly.

Give a coffee or a beer to a kid and see how he gets on, but before long he will be into it like most teenagers as it contains a drug, just like coffee. People smoke too and they will tell you the like smoking, more like they like whats hidden inside.

Things are different now.

Why do you think alcopops sell well, especially with the young and females? Because they mask the bad taste or not so nice taste of most alcoholic beverages.

yeah but when i was a kid i also had 4 sugars in my coffee, i cant drink coffee with 1 in em now, i also loved other foods and hated chinese

i DID think that it was getting used to the taste and i would be fine, i spent 3 months of drinking wine EVERYDAY as the crowd i was mixing with when i was 18 used to mix with alot of girls and i always was made fun off cause they all had wine with there meal and i had a bottle of stella, i spent 3 months of hell trying and all i learnt was not to show the expresion on my face that it tasted shite, still hated it and i STILL canot drink the stuff

so that kills that theory

 

Becks is pretty nice, better than Kaliber anyway
