should be some allen type screws behind the airbag at the back of the wheel, un screw them then just unplug it but ensure you dont throw it about or bang it or it may go off mate

I usually disconnect the battery when i take these off. They recoment that you leave it for a while after that before taking the airbag off but i,ve never had a problem. I did my first one through the leaning in through the drivers side window i was so scared but they realy aren,t that bad .

IAlso make sure the unit comes off cleanly. had one where the white plastic bit with the contacts on stuck, then split . There,s what seems like miles of printed circuit type stuff inside that uncoils itself everywhere

Took the surround off, checked the posts on here again and read what Radman had to say.Realised i'm a bit short of bits so put it back together and took it for a blast instead. When you read all that it does'nt seem like an easy job.I was hoping it would be a loosen one and fit the other job.Might have to find a scrapper and see how it all comes apart without worrying if i'll get it back into the garage.Looks like back in the box for that rally Sparco job.I think my next failure will be the seats coming out.

Sounds a good tip there. When i have another go i'll start this way but it looks like the rest will have to come apart anyway as i have the early Escos boss which wont mate with the later parts.Might check one out in the scrapper next Sat.
