Oil = white sludge

but not using any coolant

Whats the score there? its been mega cold the last few days & i noticed the car was tapping more than usual, so i checked the oil & its gone to shite, nowt in the cap, just on the dipstick.

Soooo, i am guessing its shafted, but what to replace it with? is it worth getting an uprated one, or sticking with genuine ford?

Also going to get the tappets & valve stem oil seals done at same time, anything else worth doing?

Genuine Ford Headgasket and head bolts everytime. Felpro are wank!

Is it normal to not loose coolant, but have the mix in the oil?

 

Also, how much for the head gasket, bolts, tappets & valve stem oil seals from ford? need to count my pennies & get over there tomorrow

 

These are as close as I can remember.

Headgasket £30
Headbolts £20
Valve stem oil seals £14

Don't know about the tappets as I've never brought a set outside of a full cam kit

You will have lost a bit of water but it doesn't take much water to make the oil go mayonaise.

This is the header tank on my A4 when the HG went along with the oil cooler.
