2wd discs and 4x4 calipers should bolt straight on! may need a washer thats all you will see when bolting them up

4x4 calipers.. are they really an upgrade???

why not fit a set of 4 pot calipers, as these would definately be an upgrade.

So it is just a straight swap over then?

I assume there is a noticable difference

think the pads have a bigger space, so more grip onto the disc...

Not sure tbh

As RS Gus - mine went straight on, but had to remove the inside stick on weights, it's that close. Maybe easier to get the discs machined as mentioned.

Mark

I put Cossie 2wd 4 pots on the front of my car.

I wasn;t that impressed to be honest- a good set of pads and discs were just as good if not better.

They had to be machined and a washer used to space them correctly.

2wd calipers DO NOT 100% not at all ever ever no chance in a million years.
There is no way they will go under S2 wheels- I even tried grinding metal out the back of the wheels to fit em on. ( Chad still has the wheel to proove it LOL)

No mate- I found out for myself....

Remember when I crashed my car.

The reason why?

I had to put those SHITTY 3 door rims on because the S2 wheels wouldn't go over the brakes that I put on at the same time as the conversion.
Hence shit tyres

Incidently- its the size of the caliper not the size of the disc- the shape of the rear of an S2 wheel means they wont go on the hub.

Tiff i have this setup on mine 2wd disc's and 4x4 calipers all that is needed is two small washers (10 mm thick) nothing else!

they work excellent on mine but i have also removed the crappy ABS units, ask karl what he thought of the brakes if he can still remember!

if you put 16" wheels on you can fit rsfocus 324mm discs using s2 calipers. massive increase in braking power. needs some caliper machinening and a spacer between the flange and wheel.

as someone said above 'whats the benefit in 4x4 calipers?' , they have 60mm single pistons just like s2.

I've got 2WD Cos setup front and rear on mine and it made a lot of difference, might have been cos I binned the ABS at the same time though.

I had to use a 5mm spacer on my 17s on the front to get the wheels over the calipers, but strangely I borrowed my brothers Zetec-S rims and they went straight on with no hassle...

If you do the 2WD setup give Ryan a shout as he got mine machined for me, they fitted straight on with no washers
