As 1 couldnt get passed us in me m8s 5 series we were 4 up he was on his own & me m8s bmw is a 2.5 td! 150hp monster(looks like a m5 )

the bloke was deffo tryin & didnt seem to bothered he couldnt get pass a "M5" was tryin to get the window to to shout "U just got smoked by a derv m8" but he turned off b4 i could!

 

Not mega fast, but theyd absolutley destroy a 150bhp 5series.

They about 250bhp and not heavy.

No torque tho (non turbo rotory) so have to rev the tits outa em.

 

That's why i perfer the RX7 FD looks better as well

 

my mate said there shit, he works for them.

and he test drove all the competitors cars in its class.

lets just say it didnt do very well.

Took a test run in one (had to wait three months for it )

Took it round the M25 from Romford to the M11 and back. Once the cold start limiter kicked off the damn thing reved to 14k and it would go more but I was doing 130ish mph at the time and the salesman told me to slow down!!!

Base model is 200 bhp I think, the sports is 230. But I'm thinking twin turbo coming out soon

i can get oen as a company car but tax is fucking astranomical

the lower range one is 200bhp and about £19k

the 230bhp model is just under £22k i believe

 

 

They are shite, took a 230bhp version out for a test drive just after they were released and I was bored driving it.

Lovely car, absolutely sexy to look at but didn't have the engine to match it, had to rev the nuts off it to get anywhere

 

they had to turbocharge the rx8 but they didn't the losers. I prefer the rx7

 

just have to say had a pop at the bmw on the way home and

bttt as i found the 14k bit amusing, lol

 

From personal experience, 2.5 td 5 series are only just quicker than walking!! (I drove one a whole 20 minutes ago )

But they are good top end - Had over 145 on the clock out of it (but the GPS confirms the clock is 10% out ) Done over 130 on the GPS no problem though! And it still feels like you are going 60mph!

But anyway, RX-8 would anihalate it without a shadow of a doubt! (5 series can't even keep with a Saxo VTS!)

 

Esp one that revs to 14000

Jus noticed MadMac edited his post half hour after my 14k is bullshit one so he didnt sound such a billy-liar

 

one of the dealers by me has just got the franchise for mazda and the boss has had an RX8 for about 3mnths and its been of the road for two of them as the engine packed up after 4 weeks

 

The 189bhp one is wank, Beemer would easy keep up. 228 is better, not much tho

 

Had a go in the 180 model, to be honest the handling was amazing but in a straight line it felt slow...lack of engine braking made it feel a bit weird but a lovely car to drive. There should have been a turbo model
