Another "wonderful" idea from this "brilliant" New Labour government! Hopefully they won't last much longer, how many more stealth taxes will we have before people realise it was a HUGE mistake to vote for them?

How about a tax on oxygen? It's running out, we've got to conserve it......automatic devices attached to us which charge us for every breath we take.

Newspaper reports said extra charges were also expected for homes with more bedrooms than average, conservatories, large patios or gardens, roof terraces or balconies.

Absolute joke!!! Cant believe they are going to charge extra council tax because you have a nice view out your bedroom window, isn’t that why houses like this cost extra in the first place why should you have to pay for that again & again every year!!

The country is going down the pan just shows when Richard Branson is so pissed off with it he's going to up sticks and live on his island, then again i'd rather be there than being screwed by paying massive amounts of tax when i get absolutly no benifit from it

Politics of envy. You've worked hard to buy a nice place so they figure you must be a 'fat cat' with lots of cash.

I suppose someones gotta pay for all the scroungers and asylum seekers.

Why? i don't want to feel somewhat resposible for this country going down the pan by voting in lying arseholes!

If i don't vote, then i didn't contribute to anything bad that happens to this country.

I didn't say you had to vote for a party.

Intentionally spoiling your paper is recognised, and is at least a little pro-active.

You can't just opt out of politics in modern society, and claim that it "aint your fault".

yes!! agree entirely..
copping out by not voting IS contributing to the shit state..
"none of the above" is a valid vote, that is included in the statistics - "can't be arsed" just gets ignored, and they assume you are happy with things as they are..

100% agree with Rich and Richm if u dont vote they think your content and dont worry about it! Where as if those people who didnt vote, voted and spolit the paper then some notice would be taken!! ITs easy for people to moan, but as many cases in the UK people moan without doing things about it

So you'd prefer an asylum-seeker-preferring Bush-lapdog oil-gathering-war-waging younger fart to run this country?

You should have all voted for Charles Kennedy... at least he likes a drink, shags birds and would legalise cannabis.....

This whole thing on Taxing views is fookin ridiculous..... its like the medieval tax on windows.... which is why you see a lot of stately homes with bricked up windows... and I thought this was a progressive forward thinking government.....

Basically the problem is they are frightened to tax the super rich and frightened to tax the middle classes...

BUT

The country needs money to run....

So either pay a bit more tax....

Or kick off about the amount of fookin spongers this country is fookin carrying...

The thing that gets my goat...... is our old folks fought the War to liberate Europe.... and what happens they come over here.

Our brave boys fought in Bosnia... to liberate their country.... they fookin come over here.

Once again British soldiers are fightin in Iraq to liberate a country...

What happens... the place is full of Iraquies......

This country is screwed

I'd like to remind you (if your a Tory that is) Margret Thatcher had a close relationship with Reagan, Major had one with Bush Snr. Both of these leaders waged wars, one which of course was in Iraq, which was surely to protect finacial interests in the middle east (Kuwait), at least this time we got rid of Hussain. As for Asylum seekers, well if we didn't let them in we wouldn't have Micheal Howard would we

Nope, not a Tory either......although I'd say the Tories may be marginally better than Labour (not by much, though).
