Bet its the Alcon clutch. I had a six paddle on my fiesta and it fucked up . Was shagged from the start as it was noisey but i didnt know it was the clutch as i thought its new so couldnt be . It started to get crunchy one day then all of a sudden i was stuck at the lights on the fucking a406 at rush hour
XFactor replaced it though so credit to him cause i dunno whther he has been able to get the money back from Alcon yet.
Cars off the road at the mo with suspected clutch problem again so i will be getting something different next time as i had the flywheel refaced and it was fitted correctly just like the first time and its fucked. I dont no for sure its the clutch yet though cause i cant be fucked to sort it at the mo but im pretty sure its going to be.
Heres a pic of it

The crunching will be because the oil is too slippery, the syncros can't slow down fast enough, syncros go CRUNCH!
Goto Ford and buy 2 litres of their MT75 oil, job done, if you haven't mullered the syncros already.

to be fair.. ive avoided fast changes etc.. so its only happened anout 3 or 4 times (crunching that is)

hope you get it fixed
I use the same oil in gearboxes and diffs................
Silly question time - clutch cable? Not touching the heatshield or melted through in any way is it? I had similar clutch clearing issues albeit 2wd when the cable was mullered.
Should have hydrailced the clutch when it was out anyway

I had an R+D bigtooth gearkit, after getting the gearbox rebuilt twice by R+D using the oil they recommended (Syn5, and everytime the syncros were changed because they were kaput), i went to another gearbox builder (around the corner from Quaife), his exact words were "don't use that shite in an MT75, use the Ford MT75 oil", which i did, hey presto no more crunching
