Default Running high boost on standard IC, what would happen?

im looking to see why my piston rings have gone pop after 3.5k miles. and was wondering if this had anything to do with it?

i have the standard crap ford IC fitted, but the car is running higher boost then normal, woud this cause them to go pop?? or would this do other damage.

i do have plans to fit a Pro alloy one in the future

I would say 10psi is the most you can run safely. It really is pants. 14psi is far too much, ACT's will be off the scale by the end of 3rd gear.

Pro Alloy won't be much better either

Air Charge Temp.

The temperature of the air going into the engine. The cooler it is, the better. I had a custom made Pro Alloy one on mine, I have now gone back to a GRS.

Say you started at the bottom of 3rd gear, then went right through the box to the limit in each gear right to the top of 5th, what were your ACT's like?

act would defo be off the scale at 14 psi on a standard i/c!! mine was off the scale at just 10.5psi. was'nt much better with a pace double capacity i/c.

GRS now no probs and act NEVER gets above 34 no matter how hard you drive it

Snap although mine are slightly higher but still no more than 33 also on 25psi. We are running 15psi on the FRST with a standard intercooler and it's crap. By time you give it death once you've had your lot until the temps drop back down again

Sure your piston rings have failed and you've not actually holed a piston?
