Default Cossie Engine Mounts

My engine mounts have gone a bit soft with age on my 4x4 Saff

I've been told that it's best to fit the Escort Cossie Engine mounts, as it would improve the handleing because it raises the engine slightly

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance

Not sure about the height thing, but the Escort ones are 'beefier' as I understand it.

Or, you could go for these: uprated engine mounts

I have these fitted to mine.

Thanks foe the quick replies guys

£120!! Thats an excellent price Martin

I work for Fords and the standard ones were gonna cost me that much

So i might as well buy the uprated ones off you when i'm ready mate,

Are they hard to fit?

Thanks again

not too bad to fit, although you might need to remove the driveshaft from the front diff on the o/s to enable the engine to be jacked high enough to remove the mount

Shouldn't be any harder than std ones to fit, but my engine was out at the time. Drivers side could be a bit hassly though I'd have thought....I'm sure someone who's actually done the job with their own fair hands will pop along and add some good advice... (EDIT: and lo and behold, Martin posts before me!)

I found the drivers side easiest - access on the passenger side is tricky because the Oil Filter elbow gets in the way. I dropped the crossmeber and supported the engine from above to do it

Neil.

Thanks guys

I will be working from underneath as i have got access to a 2 pillar lift.

Could i just support the engine from underneath then remove the 4 crossmember bolts & the 2 nuts on the top of the old mounts, then lift the engine up with a gearbox jack, remove the old mounts then put the new ones in & lower the engine onto them?

Will this work? Sounds like it's gonna be alot harder than it looks
