Default Escort RST Starter

Well i have a 90spec Gplate turbo, and well it would not start once hot ! i have a clicking sound from the starter, so i changed that plus Battery! and well one hot it clicked again and woudl not fire, then a little later it was fine again. ! if this normal and can anythig be done to try and stop this happening again ! (apart from not driving the car)

Yes, u can fit a smaller motor of something like a 1.3 escort/fiesta. Or, goto ford any buy a new one - as it's at total redesign as used on current new fords.

and or make up or buy a ford heat shield and wrap the exhaust/downpipe in heat wrap.

I bought a brand new 1.8 diesel starter motor from my local auto factors and never had a problem since mate

demon tweeks sell a wrap/cover for starter motors its in their motorsport catalogue and i thik costs about £30

Haven't changed my starter for years and mine has no heat protection at all I know a lot of people that cook them though. Heat wrap the starter and the exhaust where it passes it and you should not have this problem
