My S2 escort keeps cutting out and then refuses to start. The fuel pump does not seem to be making as higher pitch buzz as it normally does. Changed the fuel filter last night to see if it was blocked but seemed ok. when i cranked it over it started again, so went for a blast and it konked again. Bloody frustrating!!! Anyone got any ideas?

 

that happened 2 mine mate it was the fuel pump it would work 4 about 5 mins then cut out and it wouldnt start till it wanted 2 and on the s2 i have now it jst died if it is whining loud mate get a new pump

 

The pump is only two month old, and its a genuine bosch pump, some one told me that they are crap anyway,and to get an uprated one.Has anyone elseheard of this?

 

fuel pump relay, under the dash, pink one.

 

if the pumps new and fuel pump relay is ok it might be the amplifier on the dissy coz when it stops working it cuts off the fuel. mine did it and i was looking at fuel first but bypassed relay and then had fuel their all the time but did not start then looked at ignition side and found the fauty amplifier. i hope this might help you
