Gotta love it, one person does it and everyone seems to think they can do it too

It'll cost at least 10k to do properly I guess

250 is roughly the limit of the standard rods....

A big BHP RST costs!

yea i was at santa pod grimme was looking out for your motor but didnt see it, didnt av an amazing day best run was 14.7 was hoping to get a better run than my last visit of 14.2, Had to much fuel init!
10grand?
this was my shopping list
big valve head-Ł500
Stg2 turbo-Ł650
Rods and pistons-Ł1500?
5th injector and setup on rr-Ł600?
New gear box-Ł800
+other bits
Probably going zvh as theres a few motors for sale with most of the stuff bought n fitted il just strip and rebuild to make sure all is in place and the correct tolerences have bn used in the bores and bearing shells etc!
Yea i realise this aint gunna be cheap but its what i wana do and i work full time as a machinest in an engineering shop with loads of useful tools and knowledgeable people to save me paying someone else to do the work, ive rebuilt my speedway motor many times the hardest part is getting the head work right as its very time consuming and you cant replace metal once its removed!!!! Hopefully i can use the advice frm the ford nuts on here to get it right 1st time!

Would have to be a Stage 3 T3 .48 tbh. Ł700+ ? Might as well get a T34 which are Ł750

A proper big valve head with all the correct bits will be well over Ł500 mate, more like Ł750+ depending on who you go too.

Other bits:
Cooler Ł300+
Rad Ł300
Hoses Ł300
Breather Ł100

And thats just the basics, it really does add up mate. Not to mention decent brakes and suspention.

i have big brakes, hoses, uprated i/c, fully polybushed and uprated suspension, etc, and the route i want to take is stg2turbo, big valve head and cvh-35 cam or watever it is, if you change the exhaust turbine ur gunna get laggg, i want to keep with the standard exhaust turbine! Ive already had a quote frm a gd head machinest on my door-step Ł400 fully worked head but i have to supply cam kit!
Grimme i got 107k on the clock and my rnd trip miles was just shy of 400miles + i cained the shit outa my car at the pod and i didnt drive slowly home i think that if i had AA it would jinx my cars reliability,if it breaks then i sort out AA when they turn up too tow me

Big brakes are only needed if you do track days and have alot of power, or you drive like a spaz on the road.

My car doesn't break traction at all, except from a launch

quaife diff, zoo lower arms and rear beam 17" wheels good tyres then you wont have issues with traction. standard escort/fiesta turbo are just too sloppy big brakes are needed for 250 plus i have 300mm four pots on the front 300mm on the rear, zoo pedal box triple master cylinders and brake biased valve

i got 280mm frnt cossie setup on 15's more than adequte, and yes i am using this car soley for 1/4 mile and track days, 300 is the most i wld want as thats pushing the fwd chassis! if i go zvh route i guess abigger exhaust turbine wldnt cause so much of an issue with lag cuz of the increase in capacity which wld make more exhaust to spin it up!
