Default what difference will uprated cams give.

hi lads and lasses

im needin some information .

I have a rouse 304r and over the winter wil be striping and cleaning her .
i got a new turbo to fit and had a notion of changing the cams

what difference will this give to power output/delivery?.
what cams should i be lookin for bd10s etc?.

bearing in mind that the rouse has a very small turbo for quick pick up
and as standard runs 1 bar of boost to produce 260bhp and 300 ft/lb

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
as i am a cossie novice.

I would stay with the standard cams........they are good for 400 BHP and beyond, but more importantly the standard cams are best on a road/daily driver Cossie for response, power and driveability......

I got BD 10 cams fitted in mine mate with the baby turbo mines running 24psi holding 22 psi.
not had a powerun output yet but EST around 300/320bhp 300lfb torque.

Car pulls very with small turbo(no lag) starts spining up around 1600rpm and your on full boost just over 2k. if i can get even more driveability i my dump the BD10`s for some standerd items myself

TBH i thought my cams where standerd untill we took it apart and found low comp pistons, sleeved block, long stud cov, polished ported head,BD10 cams .

my engine is built for 400+BHP but i am happy with the small turbo and no lag.

PS. steve pop down and have a drive if you want only around the corner

They are kinda wasted with that blower Tone

If you're thinking of flogging 'em, mention it to Alex. He was thinking about running a BD10 inlet

Steve, id stick with the standard ones myself if i were you. You have virtually no lag with them as it is and i think if Rouse could have put different ones in without compromising the driveability they would have done.

You want to come and have a shot of my Escort. Then you will see lag

Just get the head off of it give it a nice freshen up with some new gaskets / seals ect fit a GP-A head gasket & your new turbo and go and enjoy the thing

Remember im only over the hill if you need a hand Just give me a shout.
