The Car is mapped to run 2.2bar boost i think but it was tailing off before the plunum let go, so new plenum and sort boost leak and hopefully it will be in the 9s on the 1/4 all being well.
As said above it is 4wd.

by looks of how it exploded and how the nitrous is injected id not be suprised if it was a nitrous explosion rather than the boost becuase it pooled up in the inlet manifold.
direct port nitrous time IMO
direct port nitrous time IMO
I would personally say that was the nitrous that caused that
it can make a mess of anything and looks like he was lucky.
odd how Steve only said to me this afternoon about Steve Bennetts Sierra when it backfired on gas ! slight curse there possibly
I would say its time for a set of direct port injectors really, cant really trust that manifold to flow the nitrous equally and its maybe a slightly expensive engine to be taking any more risks with,
fair play though, I'm sure chip will be on here later to give a good solution to fixing the problem if its caused by nitrous

I work for a nitrous supplier and from only a bit of experience on my own car these things can and do happen.
exactly what caused it is anyones guess, I'm sure Scotty will have maybe noticed it miss or do something prior to the manifold ending up like that, could of been plenty of things but would say the nitrous didn't help matters.
however you cant deny thats some serious times he has laid down and it wont be long till its running 9's for sure,
good luck to him on that one, its one serious car
anyone have a link to any pics of the car ?

fook me what spec is the fezzer?
Nitrous does NOT explode, thats a common misconception from watching The Fast and the Furious too much..
What it does do is liberate huge amounts of oxygen, which obviously assists the combustion process massively......
Likely cause is maybe a misfire at an inoportune moment causing the fuel enrichment charge in the manifold to ignite,.....assisted by the nitrous obviously...
When will people realise Nitrous Oxide is just AIR......

I'm quite aware of what nitrous is amd how it works.
your likely cause though is most probably what it was though, done it to mine on several occasions..
luckily it cost me a new air flow meter and air filter, not quite the expense of swedish plenum or whatever he has, sorry had

And it very much looks like that. Nitrous/Fuel mix pooled in inlet due to manifold and nitrous install design, slight missfire, blammo, inlet blown open.
