Okay - time for an upgrade.

However, been out of touch with what's good and what's not for quite a while, so need some advice.

Have ALWAYS been a Nokia fan, and have had nothing but Nokias for the past 8 years, including the 6230 I have now.

Looking for something better, and have been looking at the Sony Ericsson W800 - any recommendations?

Just got a sony ericsson W800 walkman jobbie 2 weeks ago. Its the DADDY

Sooo pleased with it. Its like having mobile disco with you. I use it more than my Ipod as you need earphones to listen to a pod... you can use the speaker on the phone though.

2meg pix camera is awesome as well.

I was always a Nokia man as well.

LOVING this phone.

 

agree with Porkie, i got the K750i but then the W800 came out a few months later wouldve bought that if i had the option, great phones, quality camera and in all honesty is as simple to use as a Nokia

 

Im ordering my W800i next week, camera on it is awesome too!

 

Just got the W800i - it's the penguins plums!

 

6680 for me currently Rich.

 

W800i come with a 0.5 GIG memory card as standard

Colours are a little in your face for me but can't argue with its functionality

although mine doesn't like PF??? won't load it on web browser

 

Cool - resounding vote of confidence for the W800.

I'm not bothered about WAP though - I spend enough bloody time on this website as it is!

 

I got a w800i and its great. I was going to get an I-POD but this does the job just fine

Get a Nokia 6680

 

Compared to a 6230, pretty much ANYTHING is better

 

The 6680 looks okay, but I've held one, and they're a bit "chunky" for my liking.

 

Thats why I didn't get the 6680. It does LOADS! but I never use any of those things so why carry around a brick I thought.

I like music, like a radio on my phone, like a camera, and want a little phone thats FAST to use.

W800 is WICKED... it also has a VERY good torch on it

 

Exactly what I'm after.

Although us employees get very good discounts on the new phones (free) and have them weeks before u lot

Ive got a 6230 too, upgrade next month. Dont like flips or slide's. Want somwthing small. IS there not a replacement for 6230i?

 

W800i here as well got it last week as an upgrade - always bought Nokias previously. Best phone I have ever had (in 15 years of having mobiles )

 

I'm waiting for the new Nokia N series,due out soon.

Think i'm after the n70 now.

pretty similar to the 6680 but smaller.

Due out October but cannot get it yet.

 

I've got an Ericsson K700i @ the moment (almost 1,5yr)...and i'm very satisfied with it!

I love the Ericsson Mobiles My next one will be a W800i that's a superb one

 

6680 ...bigger memory card .. upload mp3's .. really good sound to it ..
1.3 camera ... it thought it was a bit big ... but works really well ...

 

cant advise you, just know you should NOT buy an XDA2i or a 9300 as i got both an they're poo

 

Totally agree, my W800 rocks Its a US Bank holiday today so NOTHING going on at work and so I'm sitting here listening to my phone on loud speaker well I am for the next 10 mins... then its hometime

 

can yuo get GPS on the W800?

i've just ordered one as the 6680 was out of stock.

They just called me up just now, and offered it as a fre upgrade - job's a good 'un!

i would say the 6680 because it does tom tom 5 but mine died on me last week

only 2 months old too and ive got a poxy 3410 loan phone pmsl
