Well had 3 runs @ the retro car show...

best was 13.9 @ 102

wtf.....

3 times i could not get off the line

2.5-3 secs 60ft......

11 ish secs to 1/8

14 secs to 1/4

After i had it into third... so 3 secs for 1 hlalf, 11 for other

Gearbox is foooked me thinks

All 3 times could not get 2nd, for a few attempts, same with third, never made 4th until after the 1/4 so going over the line in neutral

So as a track setup car and a foooked box i did proper shite.....

So, 102mph terminal is less than mine, therefore your car must be under 250bhp.

(Please remember that excuses won't be accepted, as there weren't for me. You terminal speed is your terminal speed as you tell me..... )

PMSL - going over the line in neutral then C&B, so the terminal speed is bhp....

At 1000rpm i have less than 250bhp - Erm, no shit

 

Why such a low terminal tho?

I coudlnt launch my 3dr either even with only 27psi (tho it was a lil damp), ended up with a 13.9@110mph with a 2.7sec 60ft (2.7 )

Terminal is low cause i couldn't get any gears

3rd @ 7k when changing is 100+

Yet i had changed into 4th, not getting it and going over the line so its never gonna be any more than a 100 ish is it

So the BHP/ Terminal Speed rule relates to what RPM you were running at the precise moment that you crossed the line?? So, if I drop a cog just as I pass the line and hit 12,000RPM, then my car will suddenly be 500bhp will it?? OK, so I would be taking it home in various boxes, but just to make a point, eh?

I couldnt get gears in a similar way, everyone said box is fucked, i fitted a B+M quickshift, suddenly perfecto, ram it straight into gear...

 

How much is a B&M quick shift ?

Hundred odd i think ding, one of the best mods i did, gearchange was VERY noticable better and sooo fast, and 100% precice, and before it was forever not going into gear.

 

Tony @ TS told me that quickshift's werent much good on the Cosworth's T5 box as you'll end up changing quicker than the box can??

Heard the same thing, that they can kill boxes. Although if he was gonna chuck it in the bin anyway coz he thinks it's knackered it might be worth a go

spot on mike, tims saph has a b+m quickshift (close your eyes and ears tim LOL) and when i drove it with his mrs in i missed 3rd cog and slammed the bap baps, it just wouldnt shift properly cos i tried to snatch it quick like i do in mine (im told i do that a lot lol), load of crap imo, feels way better as std and lets be fair it aint as if the throw is long in a std t5 anyway!!

 

Ok, B+Ms are good if your not a fookin pussy

You can change gear every time faster than the syncros, which wont do the box much good, but if you REALLY bash it into every gear like if u using a proper race box, its sooo precise n fast.

If your changing gear gently n smoothly it wont work well, but youl also be losing time, and being a big gay

 

you might also be shortening gearbox life, as the T5 was never designed to shift that quick!
