Ignition cut out & backfire
Right i was on the motorway in 5th put my foot down abit the ignition cut out for about a second then the car backfired then carryed on going could this be an overfueling problem plus sometime it feels like it holds back on boost sometimes it will boost at about 9psi and hold then others it will boost up to about 9psi then drop and hold 6psi anyone know what might be the problem
Thanks
Best thing is to turn the boost down a bit and see how it gets on. You using a bleed valve? Piece of piss if you are.
If the ECU senses 10psi boost it'll cut the ignition.
How old is the actuator?

No bleed valve looks like it's time to get under the car and wined the actuator out abit dont know how old -31 is but it was doing the same sort of thing with the old standard actuator on just was'nt cuting out and backfiring just holding back sometimes so thats why i put the -31 on cos i thought the old one might be fucked as the boost seems to be all over the place

Checked all the boost hoses there all fine wound out the actuator a bit as it was going higher than i first thought (so that's probley why it was cuting out) had no cutout or backfire (yet) but the boost is still going up and down it goes up to 9psi then back down to 6psi and holds at 6psi as it was before i wound the actuator out so it seem's that all it want's to hold is 6psi any idear's people
could it be an ecu problem
could it be an ecu problem
something to remember boost gauges are rarely spot on when apt tuned mine they installed their own nomad boost gauge along with mine and theirs was reading 2-3psi more than my cheap and chearfull 30 quid one!, so u could be running more boost than u think and hitting the 10psi limit, also your ecu will get the boost pressure quicker than your boost gauge will read it, had the same problem with mine when mine was standard, set mine to 8 psi still cut out, i know now why coz it was really running 10psi!
pick up a chipped ecu and it will be fine

It's not cuting out anymore and the actuator is wound out a fair bit it's sort of peeking at 9psi then going down and holding at 6psi no matter weather i wined the actuator in or not it just seems drop and hold at 6psi
dont think it's running anywhere near 10psi as it dont feel like it
anymore help would be appreciated guy's

Back in the day before I had my boost controller, my GRS used to loose 4psi from peak to hold, went for the cross over mod and it didn't drop anymore, and I still use this meathod now. Basically the air going through the throttle body holds the actuator open.

Best picture I had to hand.
yeah i know it depends on setup, but the car in question is standard, thats why i susgested it to him
As on mine, i dont run that extra pipe yet!, hence why my boost drop, where abouts does the other end of the extra pipe connect to? the actuator?.
