Subject: FW: Important Traffic Information


Some of you may find this of interest.
If you use the M27 or the M3 this potentially affects you so please
proceed with caution and pass onto anyone who you feel might just need
to know. The program a BBC South commission called "Traffic Cops" will
be filmed covering the area from Ringwood concentrating on Ringwood M27
up to M3 J9 and a team working the ringroad around Southampton (Totton
will have a unit working it alone), Cosham M27 stretch to J5 of the M27
(Southampton Airport turn-off).
The fourth concentration is working from Winchester Services covering M3
to J10 M3 (Winchester South) using five unmarked cars, two Black Skoda
03 registration Octavias, an 05 plate dark red Mondeo and two Volvo
saloon cars.

The BBC unit are going to be based out of a unit in Millbrook Road in
Southampton and will also be covering the armed police response unit and
the Southampton Airport Police Security / British Transport Police team.

The BBC team are in Citroen Picasso MPVs leased from Arriva.

To make it even more effective the Traffic police have authority from
Chief Constable to "work to rule" So instead of the laid back approach
to the usual Hants traffic police this will be a lot more concentrated
to make it effective filming.

Thats interesting i spoke with a Soton copper a few years back and he was telling me they have an Evo 6 TME and Scooby and openly bait drivers in fast cars,

I live locally to Southampton and have never seen the Evo or Scooby,have seen the Octavia's many, many times, I saw this filming on the way to work the other day, was sitting in traffic as usual and on the opposite carriage way an Octavia RS and marked unit were bloody flying, and I mean flying , about 3 minutes later they went past us on the hard shoulder at ludicrous speeds,nose to tail, I said to my mate who was driving-that must be a really bad accident I've never seen police going so fast.
Anyway about 10 mins later we see why they were driving at warp factor 9, a tiny accident with 2 cars which was being filmed for TV ,the traffic was backed up because dickheads were all rubbernecking at this HUGE accident (not)-really pissed me off as the 2 police cars could have killed innocent people.

 

I got nicked by them on the M3 in the Esc few years back

 

There are rules about how they can drive fast and when is there not, how they justify it,

I have met some gat coppers in Southampton (all traffic) and some real arseholes (non traffic)

have to say the 2 traffic which nicked me were decent enough fellow's... considering...

 

so it is true then .. bugger best drive propperly

 

Like wise Damo, have been let of by a few and they even told to take care of the car as it was a nice example and you dont see many in this condition...... nice bloke,

they used to have a red scooby, till they smashed it up

never had an EVO though, was probably a area traffic car covering the area from another sector
