Default Esc cos fuel swirl pot??

Pissed of with it the engine cutting out on corners, I would like to put one in and I'm a little unsure of how the pump/s systems work, and how to connect to the tank.

do I get takeoffs for the bungs on the side of the tank? or get a disc made for the top with dash fittings.

submerged or external?

any ideas?

cheers

how about putting an uprated fuel pump in tank. which then only feeds an external swirl pot. and then from that run a 044 fuel pump to supply the fuel rail.

plumb it in so the return from the fuel rail refills the swirl pot before it returns back into the tank!!

that way you should keep the swirl pot as full as poss at all times!

It shouldn't be needed for a road car IMO.

WRONG - The Escort suffers from horrendous fuel surge even on the road if the tank gets below 1/4 full .

What about the thin wires that go from the plug on the disc to the pump do you use a thicker guage cable in there too?

any pics of installs?

Or, save yourself a shitload of money, and don't let the tank run that low.

Works for me

No mate, they use the same gauge wire.

an uprated in tank pump doesnt require a a higher ampage or draw any differnt a resistance so the standard wiring is good enough for the job.... providing its not suffering from corrosion!

Mine does it under half when I launch it on a bend or coming out on a roundabout which is a real shit time for it to happen.

I've just checked the wiring in tank is in good condition and I've changed the wires to the tank.

right just gotta get a swirl pot made up and get a cossie pump.

Cheers

Used to get that in the 3door at same sort of level too.

Clio 172s do too.

Depends how hard you drive on the road i guess.

thats what I wanted to do aswell cos i don't like the idea of petrol in the car , but again i thought it wasn't a good idea for fear of getting caught on stuff.

I'll have to see when i can fit a tank under car thanks for the help.
