Default Re-build of G19 RST UPDATE:20/02/2006

Quite new to the forum so i thought id post up a few pics of the car and stuff.

Some of you will probably recognise the car because it was built by Lee at Fusion.

From him it went to two other young lads who didnt relly look after it so when it came into my possession i decided to fully strip and re-build the thing. Quite a task for me as ive never done anything like this before!

Anyway, heres the link to my photobucket with loadsa pics that ive been taking as i go. Not got too far yet - just stripped down to the shell so far with just the engine to come out. Hopefully weldings gonna start in the next couple of weeks.

Lee - think its a bit of both mate! Poor things not looking too happy at the mo but all will be well!

Cabstar - yeah it was featured just as Lee was selling it i think.

Hopefully project will really kick off in the new year once ive sorted out buying a house and got some cash together!

Well after a few months of neglect ive finally started work on the car again.

About a month ago i enlisted the help of a few mates to help remove what was left on the car (engine, loom, etc) and booked it in with a welder i know (local.....as in the workshop next to mine )

Overall there wasnt too much rust on the car, and most of that that was there was surface, the main area of concern being the sunroof area. But i told him to just do the lot, so we ordered:

2 front wings
Front crossmember
2 rear arches
2 sills

and a few other bits i cant remember

Hes had the car just over a week now and is near 40 hours work on the car and has fully completed the front and sides of the car, with the roof and a few other bits to do.

Ive taken a few pics on my mates camera and they are on his photobucket so as soon as he sorts me them out il post them up.

Next step is to send the car to another workshop down the farm to have the engine bay sandblasted,
Then to my mates workshop (on the same farm again) for a full respary in Cosworth Aubergine.

Cheers

Nick

When we tried to move the car round to the welders i didnt realise that without the shafts being in the wheels would fall off so had to get ma mate to put them back on and the shafts in to maneouvre it! ooops!!
