my cosworth engine has always sounded sweet since i have owned it but yesterday i started her up and noticed a fast ticking sound. when for a short run and it seemed to have stopped?? any ideas what this new noise is likely to be???

 

prob your hydraulic tappets mate.

 

anyway of sorting it ie diff oil or addative????

 

does it do it everytime you start the car from cold?
if it does then you may have to replace the tappets.sometimes they get a bit stuck cause they have dirt in them.try changing your oil perhaps?

 

its the first time its ever done it, havent tried it today to see yet
