Think my plugs are on there way out so im gonna get a set along with some leads. Is it worth spending out on decent ones or should i just get whatever my local Motorfactor has in stock? If not what do u recommend? it a n/a zetec with head, cams, upped compression etc
cheers
cheers
I did have splitfire plugs & leads on and was told they were shite (the leads came apart on me so they were right
) so on my MK6 escort zetec I was advised to stick to ford original leads and just your standard NGK or champion plugs so hope this helps you out unless the tuners have different ideas

cheers for ur input mate.
One place has offered me Denso plugs and PowerTec leads and another has offered Bosch leads and NGK plugs. Take it the Bosch and NGK's are better?? will they actually make a difference??

Not sure about that mate dont really know much about them as I posted a similar post about plugs and leads about a month ago so hopefully someone else can read this and add a bit of their wisdom
If I was to commit mate I would go with ford leads and the NGK's
but i'm no expert just going from recommendations really but also heard good things about bosch so hopefully this helps you out

NGK do 3 types of plug for the zetetc:
PTR5A-13 - Platinum tip now replaced by PTR5A-10
PTR5A-10 - Same plug but with 1.0mm gap cos the 1.3mm gap ones weren't lasting.
TR5A-10 - Standard copper core plug. Cheaper but wont last as long.
Platinums about Ł5 each Copper about Ł2.50 each.
Bosch leads probably as good as it gets!

As for the brakes, bad news mate - the Mondy ones are way too high unless you've ground the caliper mounting brackets down by 3-4mm.
