Default can anybody give me some needed advice

my car- a 97escort 1.8si seems to have developed a problem. the interior blower fans arent workin. i switch it on the 1,2,3 speed thing and it wont work at all. the air con wont switch on either, yet i can control the temperature of what slight air is comin thru the vents. could this be the first signs of the fuse box going? i hope not lol, as theyre not cheap. im fooked off, i really wanted to sell it within a month and get a nice rs turbo

any help, advice, much appreciated

get a electrician to check it out if there like the mondys theres a relay that blows and cuts the power to the fans on the heater or it could be the fans burnt out

Not sure what the problem is, but the Aircon won't switch on unless you have the blowers on at least the first position IIRC, so its the fact that they aren't working that is stopping the Aircon. I reckon its something simple (Fuse/Relay/Earth).

As the others have said - Check the fuse first. Its number / location will be in the handbook. Failing that it could be the actual switch itself. Sounds like a simple electrical fault to me

sorry to say mate but the blower is the first thing to pack up when fuse box is going, closely followed by electric windows.
we get asked for fuse boxes daily and it always seems to be the blowers going first-unusual on a 97 escort though, ford changed fuseboxes in late 95 to a much better design- its usually only the ones earlier than this that play up-heres hoping its your switch!

Tricky
