Default Topping up my gearbox oil.... (pics)

just wondering if there are 2 pugs on my gearbox, one to empty everything out and one where you put fresh oil in.

just wondering cos this is the only plug i can find and there is a shite load of oil pouring out when i opened it. this makes me think its not the one i should be topping up with...?

here is a piccy....

also, what grade oil does the MTX-75 box use? i wanna put something slightly thicker in it.

buy propper MTX75 gear oil from ford or a very good motorist discount shop

plug is on front of the gearbox for the oil level/fill point about 1/2 way up the box.
drain plug is one nearest the bottom of the box.

oil fill is 7mm alen key head

cheers people.

will there be another plug somewhere to drain the old oil out?

i went to Fords and they said that the MTX75 gearbox oil doesn't say how thick it is on the bottle. it doesn't say in the Haynes either.

reason i think i'd be better off with thicker oil is because last night after a few hours of driving i was getting grinding going into 3rd (the syncro is going) but this morning after an hours worth of driving it was totally fine - a bit notchy, but it always has been.

i'm got some slick 50 gearbox tratment to go in and was planning on putting some slightly thicker oil in. i know its not a proper fix, but aslong as it helps the cause i'm happy
