Default Miss Fire On Boost

Hello guys my car has developed a miss fire when its in boost, The miss fire went away for a few secs but came back!!

I have changed the leads, plugs, coil, dist cap, but NOT the rotor arm as they didnt have any in at the time.

But it still has a miss fire. I took out the spark plugs and checked that they were all sparking and they seem to be.

Anyone got any ideas?

Also if i put the ignition on so that i can check the coil with a volt meter, The two thin wires going in to the coil what readings should I get on my meter?

I NEED HELP!!!!

as jon said try the tappets

the only other thing if ur running loads of boost is the gaps on the plugs could be to great and the spark can blow out

Just changed the tappets!! Bloody xpensive!! 14notes each!!!!!!! Anyway, it made no difference!, Anyone got any other ideas?

Its got two fuel pumps, and a swirl pot, Any idea how I check if these are working correctly?

When the car is runing you can hear the fuel pumps tick, But sometimes they stop ticking and then start again. I hate this car!!!!!!

How do you think fuel pressure?

Cheers Guys for all your help!!!!

I just had a look at that valve, It has 3pipes going in to it, and two wires. If i just removed the wires and taped them up, Would the car still run?

I also did a search for amal valve, Not many people just disconnecting them, they all seem to fit a bleed valve was that what you were meaning KSA-Cossie? Im kind of lost now!!!!!

so find the hose from the actuator to amal and the hose from compressor housing to amal pull them off of the amal and join um together using the bleed valve ! this will fully disconnect the thing!!

Depends if the bleed valve is two or three port, one other thing to check is your coil and it's connections.

would it be better to buy a 3port one? Is the fuel metering one important if I buy a 2port? Do I just leave the metering unit with nothing to it? or would I have to blank it off?

Cheers

grimmeRST, What do you mean blank it off? Do you mean join the two pipes togather that go to the acuator and the turbo? and just blank off the fuel metering unit by its self?
Or individually so none of them are joined?

thanks!!!!!!!!!!

right guys, I just took the amal valve out, it made some difference, I blanked off all the 3 pipes, but i didnt join the two from the comp and the acuator togather I indivdually blacked them all off.
Before the boost wouldnt go past 10psi because it used to missfire, Now for some reason it goes to atleast 22psi before it starts to missfire. And im sure the car was only set at 19psi maybe thats over boost? Im not sure.

I changed the fuel pump relay also.

The plug gap was at 0.6, but i made them smaller down to .55 incase it was getting blown out.

just put the bleedvalve from the actuator pipe and the compressor housing pipe and blank the one what comes from the metering unit.

could of been overboost at 22psi, some chips are 20 psi cuts,

disconnect the electrical wire going to the amalvalve aswell.

Alright guys, I fitted a bleed valve to my car, I made it so it wasnt boosting as much as it used to but it still has a miss fire.

Now would having low power in the battery make it have a miss fire? as thats the only thing I havint changed yet!!!
