Default is my car chipped ?

just wondering if anyone could tell me how to find out if my car is chipped !!! the bloke i bought it off said it was and i have a print out from well lane reading 181bhp??? there is no way the car is running this now but juct wondering if the chip remains !

Have you got a boost gauge?
If so, anything more than a definatre 12psi will indicate the ignition ECU is chipped

I say 12psi, because you can theoretically run 12psi on a std chip if you know too

Standard boost limit on a standard ecu is 10psi anymore and it will pop indicating you have hit the limit

unless you know how to fool it into 12psi

yes 10psi is standard as above, as for popping - I dont think so, the whole engine will die (rev cut)

not blow up
It will cut the revs totally indicating overboost protection
if you do it time and time again then evenually it will lead to headgasket failure and a melted piston or two

boost gauge reads about 0.7bar that must be about standard yes????
