ive replaced the cam and hydralics tappets in a s2 rs turbo the cars standard but it starts ticking after 2000 mile the cam i took out wernt dat old and the lobes were wore so i replaced it but now the new one as gone like it. cheers 4 any help also is the turbo 16 cvh head the same as a standard cvh head?

 

Don't think there is much difference between the 3i head and the Turbo one iirc. Did you run the new cam in properly?

 

it was out a xr2 the cam was but it looked good i held the car on around 3ooo revs for about 15 - 20 mins

 

Are you sure that the oil is getting up to the top end as a mate of mines xr2 turbo was scranning cams for fun 1 every fortnight turned out main bearings were worn and reducing the pressure to the top end , hence increasing the cam wear and shortening the life of them

 

the engine had a full rebuild and the main bearings got changed i was thinking a oil port is blocked which aint getting the oil up cheers for the help thou
