Default Anyone with Escos wheels on 3 door Q?

I am re-fitting Escos wheels to my 3 door for a while until i can find the wheels i really want! When i got the car it had escos rims on it which fitted fine but i can't remember what size the tyres were? I know that standard size escos tyres don't fit under the arches so its not 225/45/16's
Got a feeling they may have been 215/40's but need to know for sure as i don't want to waste money on the wrong size
Cheers Spadge...

Thats cheap enough Thats the tyre size I use run on my 2wd, the standard 225/45's had the edges shredded by the wing at the front every time I went over a bump, although the rears were fine. .....

Didnt think it made a difference being 4wd as the rolling radius would be about the same.Wot happens when you have a puncture and use the space saver .And it not like it a 50/50 split. But i would like to know for definate.Anyone know for certain.

CheeRS for checking

A space saver on a 4x4 will no doubt be exactly the same rolling radius as the standard wheels on that car mate!

But does that mean that when a escort cossie changes to 18" rims that tha spacesaver becomes useless as the rolling radius has changed slightly.

Mmmmmmm.Strange.

And as your car is 4x4 would there be a difference in ET's anyway.

I.E. is a Standard 2wd sapphire wheel the same ET as a standard 4wd one .You of all ppl must be able to check this.

Not really, different front wings for starters (EsCos vs 3dr)

2wd and 4x4 offsets are different.

Wasn't on about the wheels Billy just the 2wd v's 4x4 dilemma.

So if the wheels are different offsets that would also effect where the tyres sits in the arch.So in theory the question Spadge is asking is a waste of time as he needs to ask 3dr 4x4 owners which there aint any apart from a select few.Or am i right off the mark here.

215x40x16 rings a bell, but it's Spadgeroo's dosh, so........... f* it

Spadger, maybe give Martoon a mail/bell, he'd most likely know for sure

I think most ppl that put escort rims on 3dr's go for 215/40 but 2wd.And they catch now and again on front.I'm just wondering as offsets for 2wd and 4x4 are different will it make it worse or less.

Sorry for 5 yr old comment

Spadge= Didnt it have escort rims on when you bought it.I remember it having them on once upon a time.Wot size tyres were on it then

Yep, see what you're saying Stretch, hence why I pointed Spadgeroo in Martin's direction - he built a 4x4 3dr maaaaany moons ago. Closest comparison on here(other than that or another 4x4 3dr) would be a 4x4 Sapph with 'em on (closest match wheel, 4x4 vs wings) I reckon

the tyres or over all radious do have to be exactly the same on a 4x4 cossie front and rear otherwise one set is dragging the other. This happened on my m8s esc cos when he put wider tyres on the rear.

I run 225/45 on the rear and 215/40 on the front, best wheel for 3dr imo
