Default rs look alike (many photo's)

ok guys ive only just found out about this site and already fallen in love with it, so i thought that i would post up some pictrues of my baby

this is my escort mk4 1.3 bonus 90 i bought it back in october when it looked like this

then i rememberd that my mate had a rs turbo bonnet so went and got that for a 10er

as you can see i still had a fair bit of work to do on it

then my cousin told me he was getting a new bumper for his rs so gave me his old 88 spec front bumper

which i then took my mind to and cut out the center beam which will be seen in a pic later

i then went and found my other mate who has jus stripped his rs and managed to blag the back bumper and 88 spec rear spoiler and the full interior (without the dashborad) for 100 quid

as seen here

the drivers seat has the usual wear on it and a small cigarette burn where yoiur ass sits so not visable when driving

the back seats are in imaculate condition along with the passenger seat

i then went out and bought the usual crap a 17 year old would

i then proceeded to take off the bad boy bonnet to get the car through the mot which it now has

then my mate tells me he has a set of 17 inch chrome wolfrace katanas for sale

so obviously i went and bought them

with the bumper now near enough finnished and fitted

i have just been out and bought a set of brand new fiberglass replica s2 archs and side skirts for 30 quid

seen here

now some random crap that i have either bough (ie the rims) and not using or stuff that has come off the car

then this is how it stands at the moment

hope u like it guys

the progress as of now will be slow and painfull as trying to learn to drive at the moment

you could with a set of springs about half as long or even twice as short as the 1's you'v got.

Ask Jack Sugden from Emmerdale cos i reckon his landrover is probably lower.

used to have a Bonus as my 1st car.... In Magenta, with XR3 Clover leaf alloys, straight through exhaust and a set of twin choke carbs and dropped by 1.5" all round

Unfortunatly i span it at 70mph into a motorway crash barrier.... was never quite the same after i had rebuilt it

Nice one mate, I used to have a 1.3 Popular Plus and it was the best fun I ever had making it look like an RS Turbo.

Good luck wiring in an RS dash (I gave up at that point!)

Keep the pics comin!

I had a silver 1.3 bonus as my first car - fookin loved it to death!! Ended up being slammed on turbo rims with black 90 spec bumpers and a quick 1600 cvh in it, it used to love scaring various Saxo's and the like!!

Oh and not to be big headed but i know how to wire XR3i clocks in so rev counter works properly................

Looking good mate, i had a 1.3 years back, never got round to doing out with it though.

If you pick a flat colour - Red, white foer exam[le it will be cheaper to spray, if you are abit handy with the old body work why not higer a gun etc and spray it yourself, get plenty on so you can flat sound it right back to get a decent flat finish.

Some places will do a crappy job for £200 but it will be a doors shut, hammer a thin layer of paint on job. Affraid it's a get what you pay for most of the time.

i would personally keep it standard till you have all the bits then in one go transform it, this way you'll feel the biggest benefit.

Keep it up mate, you have made a good start, keep the pictures coming and sorry about the test, just get straight back in and you'll get there.

Matt

Tony, i would deffo higher a compressor and gun etc, do a bit of practicing on an old bonnet or something then go for it.

I don't think peeps were trying to knock you about driving it around, but would deffo try and put it back to standard until everything is ready to be put and and sprayed up. Thay way people suddenly see you in a shit hot motor and not something that they have seen build up over time and know what it was.

You put back in for that test?? Maker sure you do and don't be tempted to drive that motor without a license, seen lots of peeps do it and get caught and wait far longer to get back on the road - Ban - fines - insurance etc etc.
