Default whos built a zetec turbo?

I have just converted my escort cabbie to turbo spec but im not impressed!
spent about £2000 on new engine rebuild and new turbo, but struggling to get it running right. slightest air leak and the bastard stalls or runs lumpy. concidering keeping the new turbo and flogging the engine on to finance a zetec conversion. Has anyone done this conversion and how much coin would i be looking at to get the car up an running? can anyone help ??
any info or shopping lists for parts would be appreciated!

what do you mean by this? you do know these turbo engines must run with no air leaks in the system to run properly?

there may be other issues as its a conversion , was it a standard build on standard managment?
