whats the best brand head gasket peeps? im about to go buy a FELPRO are they pants ?

 

does ANYONE know ??

 

dont buy a felpro, this question comes up some many times on here,

Buy a geniune ford one, unless ur gonna run 350bhp +

 

genuine ford everytime and everyone on here will say the same.

 

whats so badly wrong with felpro ? i spoke to a guy in burtons and he sais felpro are plenty good enough im confused now....

 

The guy in Burtons is talking bollocks. Buy a genuine Ford headgasket and headbolts. I have used both and the Ford is by far the better gasket. Had 2 Felpro gaskets fail and no failures at all with the Ford. The Ford one is also about £30 so a fair wedge cheaper than the Felpro item.

My Felpro let me down whilst I was flat out tussling with a Porsche Carrera 4 on a local dual carriageway. Was all over the guy as well until it popped between cylinders 3 & 4

 

thats suprising, perhaps i can get ford to order me one in and get a refund on the felpro, i got the non stretch head bolts too from burtons, are you saying they are pants as well ??

are burtons products really THAT bad

 

The products are fine from Burtons so don't think I'm taking a pop at them. Some of the advice can be questionable at times. Not sure on the headbolt front but again I use genuine Ford items with no ill effects.

Ford, or Payen all the way

Will cope with 2 bar of boost and 330+bhp all day long.

 

On a 1600 that is, not sure about other engines.....
