Whats better for BHP 1.9 Specialised engine or 2.1 ZVH
Trending Topics
im personally building myself a 2.1 zvh, simply cos ive done the 1.6 cvh. but once ive done zvh, i'll be bag to the 1.9 cvh, steel bottom end, well built. i reckon the cvh will be alot more fun.
SE are shite build quality, and the other place down the road form them (oh forgotten there name now
) there much better quality and i here the level of customer service isnt too bad either!
just on the zvh/ 1600 cvh Q ,I went out in a 2.1 zvh last nite for the first time and to be honest i had a s2 that was built by dean at sheppard motors and i can say there wernt much in it between the two ,dont get me wrong it was smooth but a good solid 1600 cvh built with the correct internals etc.... would probly be the same near enuff!

When you still have the same ashmatic head, extra capacity doesnt result in anywhere near a like for like gain, so a 25%+ increase in capacity wont yield anything like that sort of increase in bhp, but it will allow you to consume the same amount of air safely at a higher cr and hence drive nicer off boost, so although the peak bhp might not increase much, the area under the torque curve if you look at the whole range will increase with the extra capacity.

my se 1900 was the bollox thrashed everyday for 2 years no problems at all i built this after blowing up my 5th and final 1600cvh, nobodies mentioned the cost of makeing a 1900 bulletproof ie not worth it compared to zvh wich is alot easier all 3 of these engines are differnt and have dif characteristics zvh,s seem smooth on the delivery 1900,s savage kick in the back to 100 then 1600, s rev monsters you lot make me piss with your bitchin about ian and specialized wonder why mine didnt go bang maybe its your tuners
I had a 2.1 ZVH in my old fiesta turbo, must say I was quite impressed (used to drink fuel though) running only moderate boost not much could keep with it on the open road. My 300 bhp escort sometimes feels slower on the move but off the mark the escort wins everytime.
I heard bad stories about the 1.9 thats why i wnet ZVH route, full 16v seems a better option these days though !! - Sound nicer !!

alexzvhcabrio i take it that is you on a video on the net i saw shouting"its evo time" then completley anialating him to shreds, and with the most awesome chatter ive ever heard saw you at southend that is you isnt it?
I think people have been lucky with some of the 1900cvh from S.E. From what i understand they used the 1800 rods from sierra's fitted into an american tall block
The ZVH is difficult to build a cheap one without those niggly little problems.
The 1600CVH easy to build, parts easy and cheap to get unless your going for 230+ bhp spec

Stu its not bhp that makes u move faster is it
so although the peak bhp might not increase much, the area under the torque curve if you look at the whole range will increase with the extra capacity.

let it go janno let it go breath innnnnnnnnnnnn aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand breaaaaaaaaaaaath out now thats better
dan you must have a good 6k in that engine lad i was gonna go steelies in mine but it worked out id gain maybe 50 horse for 2.5k what power is yours now?
0 bhp at the moment
It will be around 280-300 depending on how much boost i want to run. I replaced the rods to increase the longevity of the engine rather to get more power as I was very happy with the power it was producing...... just means i can now run lots of boost if i want too
