Right i was coming down the motorway and the car just stalled tryed turning it over and it just turned over but dont start i checked the cambelt and it was fine towed the car home put some petrol in primed the pump a few times and it started for about 5-10 seconds then cut out again tryed to start it a few times after that but nothing im thinking its a fuel problem as it did start then cut out or could it be a relay or something else anyone got any idears

 

fuel safety shut off ??? locks the pump out all RS's have them could be that in the fiesta's there in the sill panel on pass side maybe in the boot on the escorts i think??

 

but it did start for a few seconds then cut out again si if it was the fuel shut off would'nt it just not start at all??

 

sounds to me like it the fuel pump or the relay without a doubt! they the pump would be the most likley as the fuel relays dont relly give that much trouble!

 

it did start when i got it home after i primed the pump a few times it stated and run for about 10 seconds then cut out ill give the relay a try first see if thats the problem

 

right ive just changed the relay and still nothing i can here the fuelpump prime but its just turning over anyone got any idears on what it could be

 

it may be the fuel regulator on the side of the air intake under the airbox?

 

i just had a look and i think im not getin a spark any idears on what this might be changed the coil and dizzy cap

 

Right ive got no spark ive got power coming up to the dizzy but no spark to the plugs anyone got any idears on what it could be

 

Done it!!!! unded up being the dizzy

 

what did you fix? as i have the same problem!

 

ive also got this problem!!! except mine cuts after 3 seconds!

 

K18NEO, change the dizzy i had power coming up to it but i think the little brushes inside where worn as soon as i put a new dizzy on it started first turn of the key
