Different diffs!
Hi All
Right - I have a pretty good Stage 3 2WD Saph Cos which has had engine well sorted. Now time to concentrate on the other end.
My principal purpose for the car these days is the Nurburgring (heaven on earth!)
My Diff is getting a little tired, and I now have a decision to make. Re-bearing original, or do something a little different.
Quaiffe now do the ABT (Auto Biassing Torque) Diff for the Cossie. Spoke to a friend about it, who told me that it just adds vagueness to the car, and is not good. I have zero experience.
So wihtin sensible guidelines, what is the best way forward from here?
All thoughts appreciated.
Cheers
JJ

the quaiffe is a good diff for the money, personally i would go for a plated type diff.
gripper or ZF make these and IMO would best suit what you are using it for.
you could go bigger , but thats when the proper money comes into it and i dont think youll see the benefit of one of these unless you are running a good 400hp+
a plated diff was the most fun thing i done to mine

Thanks for the input. I must admit that I am coming round to the idea of a plate diff, as the car runs less than 400bhp (currenlty about 350 ish), but on the track, I worry that the ATB might be a bit vague.
I will look into the ZF and gripper a little more.
rabmc - what is the diff like at breakaway? And does it change the reaction on the pick up?
Cheers
