Default Inner TCA bush

I'm not shure if I got the original metal bush that S2 had. It looks like this. Regular bush?

Not sure though

The first show an arm which was bought complete from a 3. party parts store for the Escort, they have the same part number for regular Escort and RST S2.

This is my other TCA, it doesn't say Ford on it like the other, so it must have been changed.

Is there any problems changing the metall bush for a poly one? I've ordered a set of Deflex inner TCA polybushes.

Don't change it if it ain't broken! The mk4 escorts had rose-jointed TCAs where as the mk3 had rubber bushes in the inner end. Any poly bush for the inner end is meant for the mk3 and are always softer then the mk4 joint. What you actually see, is the rubber/plastic dirt guards. Inside there is a stell ball type joint.

I've heard only the RST S2 had rose jointed.

All Mk4 escorts had a ball type joint - plastic sleeved. Work well no need for a PU bush if they are still OK. The rubber boot just keeps dirt out and grease in. You could fill them with fresh grease if you ever have them out.

yea as last reply said all mk4s are the same . only thing id say is always get genuine ford TCAs and not pattern ones . ive had some pattern ones in the past that have been different lengths to genuine m8

"If they are ok", well they are old. I have some judder when braking, but that could be wraped discs. Powerflex offer inner TCA for all Escorts exept RST S2 "SERIES 2 RS TURBO ONLY HAS METAL INNER BUSH - ALL OTHER MODELS USE PFF19-102 FOR FRONT INNER TCA"

Well I guess they are misinformed - it happens. Polybush the roll bar, and while there take the TCAs out - if they are loose and have play in the ball joint, either polybush or replace. If they are seized, grease them up and work them until they are good again (if possible)

Or even better buy adjustable TCAs from MEF on here - fully rose jointed and adjustable to sort camber and save on tyre wear. I've had all three in the past, and the rose jointed adjustables are without doubt the best option.
