Wouldnt put me off personaly due to a combination of:
British resolve not to give in to our enemies
A blind and stupid belief that "it wont happen to me"

I think I'd probably still go, as above...but I do think you lose some of the enjoyment factor....I wouldn't be able to relax properly, constantly 'on guard' and paranoid about the 'what ifs'

 

I been to turkey loads wouldn't put me off as they are always like 1000 miles away from the tourist area's!!! turkey is a huge place

anyway, i wouldnt go to turkey ever again, i went to Kos last august and done day trip to bodrom, fuckin slimy assholes, all over the missus and was quite tempted to chin about 4 of the fuckers, and then one asked me if he could kill my missus was not too impressed i tell thee!

yeah yeah so i now know bodrom is the place not to go in turkey, but i kow ill never go back.

im getting married in 2 weeks and off to the dominican republic, so i hope the fukkers dont hit that next

Manchester Mike is in Turkey at the moment & txt Rick the other day to say that the bombing that went off on a bus, him and his girlfriend were suppose to get on, only due to the fact Mike was feeling a bit i'll from burning his shoulders they would have been on that bus. Mike is still feeling a bit down as you would.

Was there when it went off. It was 1 mile from our hotel!!!

Was pretty worried about it, i just never went on the mini buses again while i was there, just got taxis anywhere.

The bus is called a "dolmus". It goes around the towns picking people up for about 40p and taking you to beaches or centre of town etc. There are hundreds of them going passed ever 5 mins.

 

turkey was nice enough though, people are a bit of a pain, you just have to be firm with them when they try to get you to go into their shops.

good food whereever we ate. wouldnt go to turkey again, but then again i dont tend to go back to the same place on holiday anyway due to their being so many places in the world to go to.

i had a good time, although 2 weeks was slightly long and my bird got ill with about 2 days to go which was a pain. Plenty of muff about though lol

 

Don't think it would put me off going... like Faye said, its huge and the bombs are usually far away!

I went to Turkey last year (Bodrum) and you're right Steve, the locals are like that... the scary thing was 2 random people knew my name I'd never seen them before in my life!!

 

Kusadasi is nice enough, i didnt go to Bodrum. Beach isnt all that, but the town is ok.

The bombs are not what put me off ... Just the Turks.
I spent 18 1/2 years in the Forces .. and it's not high on the list of resorts that I'd book a holiday at. I have 4 Turkish friends here .. and even they don't want to be there.
Try a B+B on the West Bank maybe?

Oh! And the muff smells a bit when you get close, I seem to remember.

 

We got off a cruise ship in Kusadasi and an hour ashore was enough for us. Complete PITA the whole time, people wanting to be my best friend, marry my sister, knew my uncle, sell me shit, polish my trainers, etc.

 

My mate's just come back from Turkey, loved it. No trouble at all.
