The bombs are not what put me off ... Just the Turks.
I spent 18 1/2 years in the Forces .. and it's not high on the list of resorts that I'd book a holiday at. I have 4 Turkish friends here .. and even they don't want to be there.
Try a B+B on the West Bank maybe?
