Default FWD Mk2 golf does 171mph at brunters

Yup, as title. Fitted with a 1.8 turbo engine from a Mk4 GTI.

Best of all it had STANDARD internals and not even a mad spec.
Its a daily driver, 365bhp at 1.5bar.

0-60- 4.7
100 in 10.2
124mph 1/4 terminals.

All in the latest Perf VW mag

Stunning!!! 11 quarter with FWD, that's mad in a road car

I've always love'd MK1 and MK2 Golfs, and that engine is a weapon, and has been stuck in everything from Passats, Seat Leon/Ibiza Cuppra, so probably well easy to get hold of and stick in your MK1 /2! (20v 1.8 turbo unit?)

Proper modern rocket ship with classic looks! Wonder how they got the gearbox to last, as I can't imagine it is a lot stronger than a ERST item!

Shame uncle henry has only just got round to making a modern FWD turbo car, but limited production for us RST owners..........

I think its either the mapper or one of the mechanics from Jabbasprt that owns the car,

yes it is a black mk2 if its the one I'm thinking of, it won the fastest fwd car at Redline Rumble too

Quick cossy at brunters whos is that then, not heard of one

I think this is james the fitter from jabbasport- very impressive car.
The 1.8 t is a very tuneable motor indeed and jabbasport have proven to be very capable mappers- getting some superb results.
I have the same spec motor from them for my Elise

Its a black mk2 20vt with around 360 to 380 hp. it holds the fastest front wheel drive quarter mile time acording to REDLINE RUMBEL 11.8 at the pod. 0-60 is in the high 3 sec with micky 'T' slicks.

Im pretty shure he done an 11.5 now tho. (could be wrong)
