Default Best Track Day Tyre

What is best for a track day? I will probably only put the car on track a few times a year, most of the time it will be on the road, so I don't really want a full slick, so what is the best road slick tyre?

I have APT telling me to get the Toyo R888s which are £120 each, and I have Mike Rainbird (in between giving me abuse ) telling me to get some Dunlop DJ01s and 2s...

What about the Yoko versions?

What if it rains?

Scary stuff this.....

Why not just keep a normal tyre on the car (like Eagle F1), and then get a set of spare shitty wheels with some proper slicks?

What is a spare shitty wheel that will go over my brakes, and in 16"?

I have F1's on the 17s...

I am probably going to buy 2 wheels from Mike, and maybe 2 tyres, depending on what I go for, that will do me 'til end of Summer as I don't plan on doing a track day until September/ October time.

I reckon I am going to go for White too, still a bit though lol.

Thanks rs cos

Just get something off Ebay.

I picked up a set of 17" mag wheels for £300 - they look tatty, but they'll do!

Why not the compomotive in the same style as the Esc Cos Monte rim? Loads of those about in 16 from rally cars.............
