Got up about 11 today and it was pretty warm so i decided to head off to the coast (Wells to be specific) with a couple of mates. When we arrived and drove through town we noticed there was an unusually large amount of police, and not to be racist absolutely loads of pakistanis!! On the way to the beach we saw a mobile police unit parked in a field with loads of police around it and all sorts of equipment! When we got nearer we noticed that they were monitoring traffic and pulling the cars with pakistanis over into a seperate area where they were then making them all get out of there cars and be searched, they also all had to walk through metal detectors!! As if this wasnt a strange thing to see at the beach anyhow, we then continued....... As soon as we got on the beach we were surrounded by what seemed like thousands of pakistanis!! Now it was quite hot at the beach and they are all just walking about fully clothed (with some heavy looking items on too!!) eating kebabs and currys of out tins!! Sorry to go on about it but its absolutely crazy!! We were none the wiser of what was happening until we got back to the car and we then found out that today is actually something like "Temal Day" (Not sure about spelling) which is where people of a certain religion come to a place called Walsingham (Near Wells) to pilgrimage then they have to dip there feet in water so they all then travel to Wells to the beach!! Well that was a bit of an epic post but i wasnt sure if anyone had experienced anything like it?? It really was quite strange to see!!

 

Just out of curiosity how do you know they were Pakistani's?

 

Up here in Glasgow, strathclyde park once a year has something on where lots of muslims gather together for some reason, unsure why but sumthing similar!
