Not sure where you are looking...
a ghia is about half the price, and even cheaper in maintenance.

if this is the 8v DOHC 2.0 you refer to then I have heard that they dont like to be tuned all to much. at around 200k they will need a head gasket change.
I just drive mine.

they are great on gas mileage and can pull BMw's behind them without a second thought. shoot you can even load a full v6 and the rest of the drivetrain in the boot and it still has no problem.

He wants to turbocharge a Sierra Ghia, doing that isn't going to be cheap.

All depends on how much power he is searching for. a small turbo kit can be made for around 1,000 if parts are carefully bought and all work is done by ones self.

Mine will end up costing under 2,000 (USD) and I should be pushing 350hp. Just taking me awhile though. Cosworth although a nice motor is not the only way. Alot of those parts are way expensive, especially to anyone outside the UK.

mmmm, i am thinking the Scorpio is going to get a twin turbo also. . .
